Why do you use non-nano zinc oxide in our Sun Protection Formula?

Our cream is an natural mineral-based sun protection that is formulated with a high concentration of zinc oxide (20%) to protect against UVA and UBA rays. It works as a physical barrier to scatter, reflect and absorb harmful rays. Due to the natural binding of zinc (the non-nano particles love to magnetise to one another). It is important to place a small pea-sized amount of cream to the tip of your fingers and rub together allowing the cream to melt and collaborate together if the temperamental nature of the zinc and shea butters have separated. You can also include the Sun Protection Cream into your daily summer ritual by adding a small amount to your seasonal day cream and then blending together in the palm of your hand. Zinc oxide is a physical barrier so their is no need to wait before you expose your skin to the rays. Re-apply to face every 2-3 hours. The zinc oxide used is 53micons (300 mesh) and is not micro-nosed or nano-ised, therefor the small particles are not absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream. We choose not to use nano-ised zinc oxide in our formula as additional studies show that very small nanoparticles (smaller than 35nm) of uncoated zinc oxide can be harmful to the environment by being toxic to marine life. The extremely small size of these particles generates oxidative stress under UV light potentially causing cellular damage to sensitive organisms such as coral or juvenile fish and invertebrates.
